Hi, I'm Lindsay. Welcome.

I'm licensed to practice independently as an LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in the state of Illinois, and initially started my own practice in 2019. I have a Master's Degree in Art Therapy from SAIC and over a decade of clinical experience. After expanding to a group practice about 2 years ago; I ultimately found my way back to solo practice. I'm re-connecting to the initial reasons I created a practice to begin with. This comes after a long journey of accepting that the well-traveled, well-known career path was never meant for me to take. Instead, I'm maintaining my clinical practice while working on getting art-based groups going, creating intentional communities, and overall creating space for more creativity & freedom in my work.

Witnessing and guiding clients towards their own healing, getting to see clients committed to the process create remarkable life changes; these have been some of the most profound experiences of my life. I view my role as a therapist to be both a priviledge and a responsibility. In my role as a therapist I am ultimately in a position of power; I have been intentional to both remember and respect this fact throughout the course of my career. Historically healing spaces have always been sacred. Even if that space is online and billed to insurance in 2024, it is the respect for the process of healing, of change, of death and rebirth- that we must be intentional to remember amidst the slough of distractions we are constantly surrounded by. In our own individual healing we must deconstruct the way systems of oppression that become embedded in our thinking. It is inevitable to carry these wounds. Yet the more of us who unlearn how systems of oppression and social conditioning keep us stuck, the more inevitable collective change will become. If you want a revolution, start by initiating a revolution within. It is the path forward if we ever want to change patriachal, racist, and violent systems

Psychotherapy is a modern invention; healing is not.  For as long as humans have existed, we have been wounded and we have healed. As I open the next chapter of both my professional and personal life; I aspire to deepen my own understanding and connection to what it means to truly fall apart, to be wounded, and to ultimately heal and begin again.  Healing from traumatic wounds often requires us to let the parts of ourselves that no longer serve us die to create space for new life and beginnings within us; the act of healing reflects the cycle of life itself.
